Mosquito Bug Insect Bird Barrier Hunting Blind Garden Netting
Customer review.
I have now purchased this item x2 and will be purchasing again for next year’s garden. I garden with pesticide free P-Patch, which means a buffet of bad bugs. Last year I gave all my potatoes to flea beetles. After planting this year, I used simple elastic cord to secure the net around my potato boxes. I added bamboo sticks to raise the height because they didn’t tear from the net.
Also, built a 4 foot high “rough” shell out of simple pvc pipe and used the net again. I didn’t even get aphids in my tomatoes like my neighbor did. I did at first, most likely living in the soil to hatch, but once controlled, the new ones couldn’t get in.
Inside the net, I’m growing insect-free potatoes, hugger kale, tomatoes and kale vegetables. Just outside the net, I’m battling leaf miners, aphids and cabbage butterfly larvae.
We have a resident squirrel who insists on burying peanuts in my plots, but not through the net.
I did see a crow pull up a homemade wire stake that I had used.
If you use common sense, this stuff is stronger than you might think. I’m sure I will have to trim the edges, but hope to use/reuse again.
Huge positive: you can water directly through this net.
Only negative: the edges are not finished yet – but will not wear out quickly.
Advice to gardeners.
Have a plan – make a frame out of pvc, not wood, to avoid tears.
You can buy shares or make your own – avoid bricks. Mistakes will only crawl underneath.
Securely fix one side of the shell and cover the fixings with clay. Mistakes will move on – they work too much.
Have more uncommon stakes on one side, but still cover the edges with dirt.
Cover it well so you can close it up as much as possible.
To attach the parts, I used the spring clips you use in the office.
